Blow up dolls, multiple themed rooms, and motion tracking video cameras. Sounds like a GOOD time right!? RIGHT!? Well now let’s add tons of trigger time, lots of CQB, and Thunder B’s to the equation. NOW THAT’S A GOOD TIME! Once again our friends at Airsoft Extreme in Torrance were able to set us up at another amazing location to play.
We arrived at TASK not really knowing what to expect. The location was in an industrial part of South Bay and it was well camouflaged amongst the other buildings next to it. Once we walked into the facility, we knew instantly this place was going to be awesome. Well what the hell is TASK and where is it, you ask? Well according to their website:
T A S K, conveniently located in the South Bay, offers a 12,000 square foot training center that allows for real life scenarios exclusive to Law Enforcement, SWAT TEAMS, Personal Executive Security and Private Security Teams.
If you didn’t get me the first time let me say it again, that this place for Airsoft was F*CKING great! The CQB environment really forced players to play smarter and to check their corners. There was action and shooting in every which direction, increasing what we’ll call the fog of war. In order to use this chaos to our advantage, Team AWS cautiously worked hallways and rooms making sure they were clear to use or needed to be cleared for use. The saying fast is slow and slow is fast, really held true here. Having some sort of team dynamics made this task 10 times easier when it came to force on force games. I will write an article about team work and battle buddies at a later time.
Besides team work, what really made clearing rooms about 10 times easier and 10 times more fun was using Thunder B’s. The walls and the rooms in the facility made them way louder than you would ever think. I remember the team and I running down a breeze way, we cautiously opened a door to a larger area. Immediately, Gun fire hit the door I opened. I looked over to a team member and he handed me a Thunder B. We chucked one in and waited for it to go off. BOOOM! Room was cleared and people in it were out. I would suggest picking a few of these up if you plan on playing here. They can be bought at AEX, click here to be redirected.
We also played a few scenario games where there were cops and robbers. It was really interesting to see the psychology of the players when they were a Robber or a Cop. This scenario was probably the most fun since everyone watching and participating had a blast. We have a new video section. Please feel free to watch us as the robbers there!
Over all this was a great experience. TASK was a great place and we met some great people. I would highly suggest playing here when AEX decides to throw another invite game here, since this place isn’t a “park” and no walk-on’s are allowed. If you are not on the AEX mailing list, you aren’t really playing Airsoft and there would be no way you can just come to places like this. It is super easy to just sign up for, Like them on Facebook and while you are at it Like Team AWS. DOO IT! You can see all of our pictures and videos we post.
