I originally came across this simple little flashlight in a discount section at a local Target. At the time, I was not looking for an EDC light but I did not want to pass up on the low priced tactical handheld light. I was working nights and needed something to see better with. The size, battery type, and design was well worth the few dollars spent!

I recently purchased the Vickers Tactical Glock magazine catch to remedy an issue I personally have while utilizing my Glock model 17. The stock magazine catch functions fine but my thumb is not long enough to fully press it completely in. The Vickers mag catch is a perfect solution for those like myself who lack the appropriate leverage to drop an empty magazine without changing/altering a firing grip.

I originally set out to find a radio that matched or surpassed that of an Icom F21. Seeing that my budget was to not spend over $100, finding a good radio that performed like an Icom was going to be challenging. My requirements were the following: ability to transmit at a high rate(ie. 4 or 5 watts), fairly cheap/reasonable price ( < $70), ability to use common pin type radio accessories, easy to find extra batteries and/or accessories, programmable, and compatible with other radios.
I was able to find all of these in the FDC FD-66 UHF radio. Continue Reading
A good friend of mine(OverKill1369) took the time to write a little bit about the Bawidamann PALS Universal Platform. I have since obtained a set myself and figured I would share his findings along with a few of mine.
Bawidamann PALS Universal Platform
Do you own a Kydex holster or magazine pouch that you want to be able to put on your plate carrier, but the Kydex is made to fit on your belt? Do you have a knife sheath that you want mounted onto your MOLLE battle belt, but it only has loops for a regular belt? Do you have a personal entry tool that would be better off attached to your plate carrier, but the MOLLE attachments are not the right dimensions to loop through the MOLLE?
Well, Andrew Bawidamann of Bawidamann Blade has the answer to all your mounting needs. The made in the USA PALS Universal Platform or PUP is made of ST801 Super Tough Nylon and allows you to mount your Kydex accessories or sheaths where you want to and off of your belt. The product I received was the mini kit that comes with two (2) small platforms allowing for the mounting of larger items or used individually for two (2) smaller accessories. The PUP retails for $19.95.
The PUP comes with four (4) rubber bushings, ten (10) metal rivet guides with threading, and eleven (11) steel screws. The only tool you will need to install the PUP to your accessories is a standard Philipps screw driver and the installation is straight forward.
Once you have your accessory attached to the PUP, you can now mount everything to your desired location. In my case, I installed my Off the Grid Concept Sidewinder Beretta holster to my SOTech plate carrier.
A thank you to Wedge from Direct Action Solutions in Solana Beach, CA for hooking us up with a great product to review. If you need more information about the PUP or its installation click on the following link:
Hurrah! The iPhone 4s is out! Siri has come to “help” the humans (and hopefully not destroy mankind a la Skynet). But to us airsofters, Military and LE, gearwhores and gun fans, the number one question is, “Is there a Magpul phone case available for the 4s?” Alas gents, there is and it is already here. And you don’t have to wait years for it like we did for the 3GS Magpul phone case!
The best thing about Airsoft is the ability to play the sport as you like, whether you’re a die-hard mil-simmer or just a pistol totting bad ass. Every Airsofter will agree that the gear you wear can help make or break you on the fighting style you choose to adopt in a game. We at Team A.W.S. believe that having a few practical load outs available at your disposal for your Airsoft fighting styles is ideal. We’ll talk about practicality, durability, as well as comfort-ability. Continue Reading
Comfortable, lightweight and crystal-clear lenses. Those were the first thoughts that crossed my mind as I slipped on the Wiley X Jake’s for the first time.
The main reason why I bought these glasses was for Airsofting. While these glasses were originally manufactured with other outdoor activities in mind (fishing, racing, skiing), these are rated for high-velocity protection (EXCEEDS ANSI Z87.1-2003 HIGH VELOCITY PROTECTION). Foam inserts around the inside of the lense also protect the wearer from exposure to exessive sunlight, dust, and wind while also remaining breathable and fog-resistant. In my case, they would also block bb’s from hitting my eyes, which is a great plus!
A Brief History
Magpul started as a small company that specialized in making Magpuls. Magpuls are tabs or loops that attach to AR/STANAG magazines for easy retrieval from vests and magazine pouches. Having a faster reload time created a force multiplier for rifle users. Eventually the company evolved and branched out into creating other products. These included magazines, rifle stocks, rifle lowers, handguards, rails, rifle sights and more. They are highly respected and well-regarded among the military and shooting enthusiasts. I, myself have used P-MAGs, MBUS sights, MOE hand guards, the UBR stock and even a PTS T-Shirt.
Back during SHOT show 2010, Magpul introduced an iPhone case based off their P-Mag design. There was a lot of buzz surrounding this product. Unfortunately, it was only given out during the show and was not available for purchase at the time. Fast forward to SHOT show 2011, and Magpul has finally sent the case out to retailers for consumers.
